Project | Manchester Stock Exchange Hotel
The Manchester Stock Exchange was built between 1904 and 1906, on a design by “Bradshaw, Gass and Hope” and was opened ceremoniously on the 13th December 1906. The exchange continued to trade until the year 2000, when it was closed as the finance industry retrenched in London. Former Manchester United players Gary Neville & Ryan Giggs bought the building in 2013 and turned it into a luxury Hotel within the heart of central Manchester. Learning and preserving the history of the building was critical to the co-owners so every detail was meticulously considered to create a luxury accommodation and capture the spirit and heritage of the building. The stunning example of Edwardian Baroque architecture, with its original marble, brass and woodwork, has been carefully restored to breathe new life into one of the city’s most historically symbolic institutions. We supplied the lighting of the Hotel rooms with Arkos Light's downlight range Swap. We were able to get involved in this fantastic project thanks to our partner in Manchester, UR-EKA lighting.
